Indoor Air Quality Testing in Los Angeles
Air sampling measures airborne particles, including mold spores, in a defined location over a set period of time. It is often used when there is a musty odor, an ongoing concern with no visible growth, or a need to compare one part of a property with another.
How air sampling works
A calibrated pump draws a measured volume of air through a spore trap cassette. Indoor samples are typically paired with an outdoor control sample taken the same day, because outdoor air is the natural reference point for what belongs in indoor air in Los Angeles.
Where samples are taken
Sample locations are chosen based on the inspection: the room of concern, an adjacent unaffected room for comparison, and outdoors. Additional locations can be added when a property is large or when several areas are in question.
Reading your results
The laboratory reports spore types and counts per cubic meter. We explain how the indoor result compares to the outdoor control and to the unaffected comparison room, and what that comparison suggests about the area you were worried about.
